Kudremukh, meaning “horse face” in Kannada, is one of Karnataka’s most scenic trekking destinations. Located in the Chikmagalur district, the peak is part of the Western Ghats and is famous for its lush green valleys, rolling hills, and stunning biodiversity. The trek offers a perfect mix of adventure and nature, making it an ideal escape for trekking enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Day 0 – Overnight Journey to Kudremukh

  • On Friday, Get picked up in Bangalore from the following pickup points.
    1. Karachi Bakery – Indiranagar
    2. Domlur – New Shanti Sagar Hotel
    3. Yeshwanthpur – Konkan Express Hotel
    4. Gorguntepalya – People Tree Hospital
  • Begin your overnight journey to Kudermukh.

Day 1 – Begin the Kudremukh Trek

  • On the first day of your Kudremukh Trek, you will reach homestay around 7:00 AM
  • You will finish your breakfast and carry  a packed lunch (In your empty steel box)
  • Later reach the trek base camp through a jeep ride.
  • Around 9:00 AM, start the trek to Kudremukh Peak, where you will cover a distance of 12 km (both ways).
  • You can finish your packed lunch at the peak.
  • Soak in the serene views from the peak.
  • After finishing the trek return back to Bangalore

Things to Carry

  • Make Sure to get a hard copy of your Trek permit and government ID proof.
  • Water bottles are at least 1-2 litres
  • Extra set of clothes (if necessary)
  • A Poly Bag to carry your wet clothes back to Bangalore
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses (optional)
  • Cap/hat
  • Toiletries: – comb, towel, soap, tissue paper, Toothbrush and other essentials etc. (if necessary)
  • A raincoat or a poncho
  • Personal medication if any
  • A torch with new batteries (can be managed by mobile light)
  • Please don’t carry these this while trekking;
    1) Plastic Water Bottles (refilling to non-plastic bottles is available)
    2) Plastic Lunch Box. (Carry one empty non-plastic Tiffin/Lunch Box)
    3) Carrying Snacks is allowed only without any plastic wrappers while trekking.
  • Sweaters/Jacket to bear the cold weather

NOTES

  • It’s mandatory to provide government documents for Trek Permit like voter ID, RationCard, Driving license, PAN card, or Passport.
  • Cleanliness is our top most priority. So, please do not throw trash out anywhere in the trek place.
  • Your equipment and equipment distributed are to be carried by yourself, like bags, sticks, etc.
  • As you are exploring nature, don’t expect luxury. Washrooms are only available at the hotel campsite (you reach the hotel/campsite for breakfast).
  • You agree to indemnify yourself for the risks involved in the outings varying from destination to destination.
  • NammaTrip is not responsible for misplacing/loss of any personal belongings.
  • Due to non-unavoidable circumstances the trek/sightseeing will affect the routes, trekkers need to cooperate for the same
  • If you fail to do the Reservation we are not responsible for that. So at that point in time, you can reschedule the trek for next week or go for an alternate trek.

Cancellation Policy:

  • 0-15 Days Before Start Date: No refund will be provided; 100% of the tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 15-30 Days Before Start Date: 50% of the tour cost will be charged as a cancellation fee
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get canceled. In such cases, we will try our best to provide an alternative feasible solution. However, a refund will not be applicable for the same. If there is any cancellation of the trek then while doing the refund 3% payment getway charges will be deducted.
  • Cancellations are strictly subject to cancellation policies mentioned on the website & are irrespective of the date of booking.

Terms & Conditions:

  • To organize a trip/trek we need at least 10/12 participants.
  • If the minimum number of bookings is not met, we will offer an alternative trek/trip or provide a refund.
  • Age limit: 10+
  • If Kudremukha is unavailable, participants can choose from Netravathi One Day Trek, Kurinjal, or Kumara Parvatha One Day Trek as alternate treks.
  • Our facilities are neat and basic, not luxurious
  • Our accommodations are many times sleeping bags and Tents, Dormitories, rooms with beds and sometimes just sleeping bags under the glittering sky.
  • The average level of fitness is required to participate in the trek. We will not be responsible if any participant is unable to get to the summit due to their own limitations.
  • The food provided will be basic delicious Vegetarian food.
  • Namma Trip shall not be responsible for any of your belongings, valuables, jewellery, etc.
  • We expect every participant to be responsible for littering. Please keep every place we visit clean.
  • You agree to indemnify yourself for the risks involved in the outings varying from destination to destination.
  • We have designated pick-up and drop points, make your own arrangements of transport to the desired pick-up point accordingly.
  • We may revise the Terms and Conditions from time to time by updating this posting. The revised terms will take effect when they are posted.
  • Namma Trip is not responsible if any injuries or accidents occur during the event.
  • Any client consuming alcohol, misbehaving, or causing delay during the event will be terminated from the event without any prior warning and no refund will be given. Such clients should arrange their own transport on the way back, Nammatrip does not hold the responsibility of terminated clients.
  • Littering, smoking & consumption of alcohol are banned outdoors or anytime during the trek. We will provide you with a time and place to enjoy your drinks.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be canceled and, in such cases, we will try to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
  • Namma Trip can make changes in ternary due to some restriction or wheather condition.
  • As it is a group trek, everyone’s opinion matters here to visit the replaced places.
  • we expect all passengers to support us with their condition and situation.
  • If we cancel the event, we offer a full refund to all the participants.
  • Cancellation / Refund is done by the third party based on their policies.
  • Tickets once booked cannot be exchanged or refunded.

Monsoons are from June to September and are accompanied by heavy showers. Although, the region experiences heavy rain, the climate is pleasant and good for witnessing the best of nature. Summers in the region start in March and last till May. It is the best time to visit Kudremukh for those having passion for trekking.

While the Kudremukh trek is moderate, a certain level of fitness is recommended. Start a fitness regime at least three weeks before the trek, aiming to complete 5 km in under 40 minutes.

You need 4-5 hours to reach the peak and again 2 and a half hours to return. There is a restriction from the forest office that you can not trek after 6 PM.
