Kotagiri Trek Itinerary
Day 0 – Friday
Meet at the designated starting point in Bengaluru and travel to Ooty (about 280 km, 6-7 hours) by private transportation
▪ 09:00 PM – Indira Nagar
▪ 09:30 PM – Domlur
▪ 09:45 PM – Silk Board Bus Stop
▪ 10:10 PM – Banashankari Bus Stop
▪ 10:20 PM – Kathriguppe Circle
▪ 10:30 PM – Gopalan Arcade Mall RR Nagar
There might 5/15 mins delay or early to each pickup point
Day 1 – Saturday
▪ 8:00 AM – Registration and tent assignment
▪ 8:30 AM – A brief break for refreshments and an initial exploration of the camping area
▪ 9:00 AM – Morning tea and breakfast service
▪ 10:00 AM – Start a trek down the slippery rock to the viewpoint
▪ 11:00 AM – Engage in a ridge walk to a nearby pond for some foot cooling (4 kms from the campsite)
▪ 12:00 PM – Adventure on a cave hike and a visit to a tribal house
▪ 1:30 PM – Lunch will be provided
▪ 2:30 PM – A visit to Catherine Falls for a refreshing dip in ice-cold mountain water (6 kms), followed by a tour of a tea factory if time allows
▪ 6:30 PM – Return to base camp; Niligiri tea and snacks will be available
▪ 7:00 PM – Campfire setup begins
▪ 8:30 PM – Dinner is served
▪ 10:00 PM – Retire to the alpine tents for the night
Day 2 – Sunday
▪ 3:30 AM – Wake-up call and preparation for the day
▪ 4:30 AM – Departure to Kodanadu viewpoint for a sunrise view
▪ 6:30 AM – Return to the base camp
▪ 7:30 AM – Breakfast at the campsite
▪ 8:30 AM – Check out from the campsite and travel to Ooty
▪ 10:00 AM – Arrival in Ooty and engage in activities such as visiting the botanical gardens, Rose Garden, or the Doddabetta Peak
▪ 1:00 PM – Lunch in Ooty
▪ 2:00 PM – Post-lunch, possibly take a ride on the Toy Train, if tickets are available*
▪ 3:00 PM -Visit other attractions or engage in shopping in Ooty
▪ 4:00 PM – Depart Ooty for Bangalore
▪ 8:00 PM – Dinner stop on the way to Bangalore
▪ 11:00 PM – Arrival in Bangalore, with the drop-off points mirroring the pick-up locations.
The Toy Train ride is subject to ticket availability, with an additional cost of Rs 85. Please note, this is a suggested itinerary and actual times may vary based on factors such as travel conditions, personal pace, and specific interests.
