The Borasu Pass Trek is a challenging high-altitude Himalayan adventure connecting the valleys of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The trail takes you through dense forests, open alpine meadows, remote river valleys, glaciers, and rugged mountain terrain.

Starting from Sankri, the trek passes through Seema, Osla and the beautiful Har Ki Dun Valley before entering the remote high-altitude landscapes leading towards Borasu Pass. The route involves steep climbs, rocky sections, boulder trails and snow-covered terrain, making it suitable for experienced trekkers.

The crossing of Borasu Pass offers spectacular Himalayan views before the trail descends into Himachal Pradesh towards Bonga and finally reaches Chitkul, one of the last inhabited villages near the Indo-Tibetan border.

Itinerary

    • Begin the expedition with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Sankri.
    • Travel through winding Himalayan roads surrounded by lush valleys and mountain landscapes.
    • Enjoy glimpses of the local culture and villages along the route.
    • Reach Sankri, the base for several Himalayan trekking routes.
    • Rest and prepare for the upcoming trekking journey.

    • After breakfast, drive from Sankri to Taluka, the starting point of the trek.
    • Enter Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and begin walking alongside the Supin River.
    • Trek through dense forests, traditional villages, and Himalayan fields.
    • Enjoy scenic views of Gangad Village across the river.
    • Continue towards Seema, a small mountain settlement opposite Osla.
    • Stay at Seema in a campsite or traditional homestay, depending on the arrangement.

    • Start the day's trek through forests and open meadows decorated with wildflowers.
    • Follow the trail towards the confluence of the Supin River and the Ruinsara Valley tributary.
    • Gradually enter higher alpine terrain as the trail gains altitude.
    • Reach the scenic Har Ki Dun Valley, positioned at the meeting point of two glacial valleys.

    • Ascend towards Borasu Pass, listed in the itinerary at approximately 17,583 ft.
    • Cross two glaciers before tackling the final boulder-covered section towards the pass.

    • Begin the descent into Himachal Pradesh, travelling through snowfields and dramatic mountain terrain.
    • Continue towards Bonga, located beside a tributary of the Baspa River.
    • Set up camp at Bonga and rest after the demanding pass crossing.

    • Begin the final trekking day with a gradual descent from Bonga.
    • Walk through alpine meadows and peaceful forest sections.
    • Enjoy the changing Himalayan scenery as the trail leads towards Chitkul.
    • Reach Chitkul Village, known as the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border.
    • Explore the village surroundings and admire its traditional character and spectacular valley views.

Terms And Conditions - Borasu Pass Trek 7D/6N

  • To organize a trip we need at least 10/12 participants.
  • If the minimum number of bookings is not met, we will offer an alternate trip or no refund.
  • We have designated pick-up and drop points; make your own transport arrangements to the desired pick-up point accordingly.
  • Namma Trip is not responsible if any injuries or accidents occur during the event.
  • Any client consuming alcohol, misbehaving, or causing delay during the event will be terminated from the event without any prior warning and no refund will be given. Such clients should arrange their own transport on the way back, Nammatrip does not hold responsibility of terminated clients.
  • Littering, smoking & consumption of alcohol are banned outdoors or anytime during the trek. We will provide you with a time and place to enjoy your drinks.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and, in such cases, we will try to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
  • If we cancel the event, we offer a full refund to all the participants.
  • Our facilities are neat and basic, not luxurious
  • Tickets once booked cannot be exchanged or refunded.
  • We recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the venue.

  • 0–15 days prior: No refund; 100% of the cost will be charged.
  • 15–30 days prior: 50% refund of the trek cost.
  • Refunds will be processed within 5–7 working days.
  • No refunds for cancellations due to unforeseen conditions or government restrictions

  • Please contact the tour operator or driver for queries related to boarding points or vehicles.
  • Arrive at your designated pick-up point at least 20 minutes before departure time.
  • Kindly cooperate with the tour operator in case of delays due to unforeseen circumstances like traffic.
  • Once your booking is confirmed, we will add you to a WhatsApp group on the departure date around 6 PM, where we will share all necessary updates and information related to the trek.
  • If any tourist spots are closed due to strikes, weather, or other unforeseen factors, those will not be covered in the sightseeing.
