Ghepan Ghat TrekThe Ghepan Ghat Trek is an offbeat Himalayan adventure in the stunning Lahaul Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Starting from Sissu, the trail takes you through peaceful alpine meadows, rugged mountain terrain, glacial streams, and remote valleys far from the usual trekking crowds.
The highlight of the journey is the spectacular Ghepan Ghat glacial lake, known for its striking turquoise waters, floating ice, and beautiful reflections of the surrounding mountains. As you gain altitude, the landscape gradually transforms into a dramatic high-altitude wilderness with snow-covered peaks and expansive mountain views.
With approximately 30 km of trekking, a maximum altitude of around 13,550 feet, and a moderate difficulty level, this trek offers an exciting combination of natural beauty, adventure, and solitude. The May to October season provides an ideal window to experience the scenic landscapes of Lahaul.

Itinerary
- Begin your journey from Manali and travel towards the beautiful village of Sissu.
- Cover around 85 km through dramatic Himalayan landscapes and high mountain roads.
- Cross the iconic Rohtang Pass and enjoy the changing scenery along the route.
- Stop at the peaceful Beas Temple, offering a scenic and spiritual break during the drive.
- Reach Sissu at around 10,235 feet and settle into your homestay for the night.
- After breakfast, take a 9 km drive from Sissu to the trek starting point.
- Begin the 4 km trail towards Camp 1, gradually entering the alpine landscape.
- Walk across open meadows while enjoying views of rocky terrain, glacial streams, and snow-covered peaks.
- Experience the peaceful and less-crowded side of Lahaul Valley.
- Arrive at Camp 1, situated at 12,500 feet, and spend the night beneath the Himalayan sky.
- Leave Camp 1 and follow a 6 km trail towards Camp 2.
- The route takes you through a secluded green valley surrounded by impressive mountain scenery.
- Cross river streams and negotiate a combination of gradual climbs, descents, and rocky sections.
- Continue towards a grassy clearing where Camp 2 is established.
- Settle in at approximately 12,800 feet and enjoy a peaceful mountain evening.
- Set out from Camp 2 for the 8 km trek to Ghepan Ghat and back.
- Climb over a rocky ridge before descending towards a greener section with a flowing stream.
- Pass traditional stone shelters used by shepherds during the summer months.
- Follow the river and cross rocky ridges as the trail gradually leads towards the glacial lake.
- Reach Ghepan Ghat at around 13,600 feet, where turquoise waters, floating ice, and mountain reflections create a spectacular view.
- Spend time beside the lake before retracing the trail to Camp 2 for the night.
- After breakfast, begin the 10 km descent from Camp 2 to Sissu.
- Follow grassy clearings, rocky trails, streams, and alpine meadows while enjoying your final views of Lahaul Valley.
- Reach Sissu and board the vehicle for the 85 km return journey to Manali.
- Travel through Rohtang Pass or the Atal Tunnel, depending on the route conditions.
- Arrive in Manali, bringing the Ghepan Ghat adventure to an end.

Terms And Conditions - Ghepan Ghat Trek 5D/4N
- To organize a trip we need at least 10/12 participants.
- If the minimum number of bookings is not met, we will offer an alternate trip or no refund.
- We have designated pick-up and drop points; make your own transport arrangements to the desired pick-up point accordingly.
- Namma Trip is not responsible if any injuries or accidents occur during the event.
- Any client consuming alcohol, misbehaving, or causing delay during the event will be terminated from the event without any prior warning and no refund will be given. Such clients should arrange their own transport on the way back, Nammatrip does not hold responsibility of terminated clients.
- Littering, smoking & consumption of alcohol are banned outdoors or anytime during the trek. We will provide you with a time and place to enjoy your drinks.
- In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and, in such cases, we will try to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
- If we cancel the event, we offer a full refund to all the participants.
- Our facilities are neat and basic, not luxurious
- Tickets once booked cannot be exchanged or refunded.
- We recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the venue.
Cancellation Policy - Ghepan Ghat Trek 5D/4N
- 0–15 days prior: No refund; 100% of the cost will be charged.
- 15–30 days prior: 50% refund of the trek cost.
- Refunds will be processed within 5–7 working days.
- No refunds for cancellations due to unforeseen conditions or government restrictions
Important Notes - Ghepan Ghat Trek 5D/4N
- Please contact the tour operator or driver for queries related to boarding points or vehicles.
- Arrive at your designated pick-up point at least 20 minutes before departure time.
- Kindly cooperate with the tour operator in case of delays due to unforeseen circumstances like traffic.
- Once your booking is confirmed, we will add you to a WhatsApp group on the departure date around 6 PM, where we will share all necessary updates and information related to the trek.
- If any tourist spots are closed due to strikes, weather, or other unforeseen factors, those will not be covered in the sightseeing.
