The Kalindi Khal Trek is one of the most challenging high-altitude trekking expeditions in the Indian Himalayas. Located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, the route connects the sacred pilgrimage towns of Gangotri and Badrinath, crossing the spectacular Kalindi Khal Pass at around 5,940–5,950 m (≈19,500 ft).

This is not a beginner-friendly trek. The expedition involves glacier crossings, snowfields, steep moraine sections, crevasse-prone terrain and prolonged exposure above 5,000 m. Prior high-altitude trekking and glacier experience is strongly recommended.

Itinerary

    Depart from Bangalore

    • Meet the Namma Trip team at Dehradun Railway Station between 6:00 am and 7:00 am.
    • Start the scenic 258 km drive towards Gangotri, covering the journey in approximately 10–11 hours.
    • Enjoy beautiful views of the Bhagirathi River, Himalayan valleys and dense green forests along the way.
    • Drive through Rajpur Road and continue towards Mussoorie, the famous “Queen of the Hills.”
    • Take a breakfast break at Suwakholi and refresh yourself before continuing the journey.
    • Continue through Chinyalisaur and Dharasu, with a lunch stop at Uttarkashi.
    • After lunch, proceed towards Gangotri through the scenic Harshil Valley.
    • Reach Gangotri, located at approximately 3,415 metres, and settle into your accommodation.
    • Check in to the hotel on a twin-sharing basis and take some time to relax.

    • Begin the trek early from Bhojbasa and follow the trail towards Gomukh, the sacred snout of the Gangotri Glacier and the source of the Bhagirathi River.
    • Reach Gomukh and take in the spectacular views of the massive glacier surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks.
    • Cross sections of the Gangotri Glacier, navigating loose rocks, boulders, uneven surfaces and icy patches with care.

Terms And Conditions - Kalindi Khal Trek 14D/13N

  • To organize a trip we need at least 10/12 participants.
  • If the minimum number of bookings is not met, we will offer an alternate trip or no refund.
  • We have designated pick-up and drop points, make your own arrangements of transport to the desired pick-up point accordingly.
  • Namma Trip is not responsible if any injuries or accidents occur during the event.
  • Any client consuming alcohol, misbehaving, or causing delay during the event will be terminated from the event without any prior warning and no refund will be given. Such clients should arrange their own transport on the way back, Nammatrip does not hold the responsibility of terminated clients.
  • Littering, smoking & consumption of alcohol are banned outdoors or anytime during the trek. We will provide you with a time and place to enjoy your drinks.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and, in such cases, we will try to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
  • If we cancel the event, we offer a full refund to all the participants.
  • Our facilities are neat and basic, not luxurious
  • Tickets once booked cannot be exchanged or refunded.

  • 0–15 days prior: No refund; 100% of the cost will be charged.
  • 15–30 days prior: 50% refund of the trek cost.
  • Refunds will be processed within 5–7 working days.
  • No refunds for cancellations due to unforeseen conditions or government restrictions

  • Please contact the tour operator or driver for queries related to boarding points or vehicles.
  • Arrive at your designated pick-up point at least 20 minutes before departure time.
  • Kindly cooperate with the tour operator in case of delays due to unforeseen circumstances like traffic.
  • Once your booking is confirmed, we will add you to a WhatsApp group on the departure date around 6 PM, where we will share all necessary updates and information related to the trek.
  • If any tourist spots are closed due to strikes, weather, or other unforeseen factors, those will not be covered in the sightseeing.
