Itinerary
Depart from Bangalore
- Meeting Point: Assemble at Pathankot and begin the journey towards Dalhousie.
- Drive: Cover approximately 80 km through scenic roads leading into the Himalayan foothills.
- Scenic Route: Enjoy views of rolling hills, green valleys, forests, and charming mountain settlements along the way.
- Arrival in Dalhousie: Reach the beautiful hill station nestled amidst the mountains of Chamba Valley.
- Explore & Relax: Spend some time exploring the peaceful surroundings and colonial-era charm of Dalhousie.
- Acclimatization: Relax and allow yourself to adjust to the mountain environment before beginning the upcoming Kugti Pass Trek.

Journey into the Hills
- Morning: Start the day with breakfast in Dalhousie and get ready for a scenic journey towards Bharmour.

Through Forests, Meadows & Mountain Roads

A Peaceful Himalayan Temple Trek
- Morning: Have breakfast in Bharmour and drive towards Hadsar, the starting point of today’s trek.
- Drive Distance: Approximately 20 km by taxi through scenic Himalayan roads.
- Trek Begins: Start the 6 km trek from Hadsar to Kugti Village, following a rugged mountain trail with steep sections.
- Dhanaul: Reach Dhanaul, a small stop along the route, and take a short break while enjoying the surrounding mountain scenery.
- Budhil River Trail: Continue along the left bank of the Budhil River, surrounded by peaceful forests, rocky slopes, and dramatic valleys.
- River Crossing: Descend towards the riverbed, cross a small bridge, and continue with an uphill section towards Kugti.
- Arrival at Kugti: Reach the remote Kugti Village, traditionally divided into Lower and Upper Kugti.
- Village Experience: Take in the untouched Himalayan setting, interact with the local surroundings, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this remote mountain village.
- Stay: Overnight stay/camping in Kugti Village.

Into the Remote Kugti Valley
- Morning: Begin the trek from Kugti Village after breakfast and follow the trail deeper into the remote Himalayan landscape.
- Stream Crossing: Cross a small mountain stream using the bridge and continue towards the sacred sites along the route.
- Kartik Temple: Visit the revered Kartik Temple, dedicated to Lord Kartik, and experience the deep-rooted traditions of the local Gaddi community.
- Marali Temple: Pay respects at the Goddess Marali Temple before continuing towards the campsite.
- Alpine Trail: Trek through expansive high-altitude meadows, surrounded by rugged peaks, open valleys, and pristine Himalayan scenery.
- Descent & Stream Crossing: Gradually descend towards a mountain stream, cross it, and make your way to Dughi.
- Dughi Campsite: Arrive at the peaceful Dughi campsite, settle in, and enjoy the solitude of the high-altitude wilderness.
- Stay: Overnight camping at Dughi.
Across Sacred Trails & Alpine Meadows
- Morning: Have breakfast at Dughi and prepare for a challenging day towards Alyas Base Camp, locally known as Lahesh.
- Trek Distance: Approximately 9 km through rugged and high-altitude terrain.
- Streamside Trail: Follow the mountain stream while navigating steep climbs and rocky sections along the route.
- Kuddy Plateau: Tackle a demanding ascent to reach the scenic Kuddy Plateau, offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
- Beyond the Treeline: As you gain altitude, the dense vegetation gradually disappears, giving way to open alpine terrain.
- Final Ascent: Continue along a steady uphill trail towards Alyas Base Camp, surrounded by vast and dramatic Himalayan landscapes.
- Kugti Pass Views: Get your first impressive view of the V-shaped Kugti Pass, positioned between two towering mountain ridges.
- Camp Arrival: Reach Alyas Base Camp, settle into the campsite, and relax after the demanding climb.

Into the High-Altitude Wilderness
- Early Start: Begin the trek before sunrise, when the snow is usually firmer and easier to navigate.
- Trek Distance: Approximately 12 km round trip.
- Moraine Section: Ascend through rugged moraine terrain, following established tracks and carefully negotiating snowy and icy sections.
- Challenging Climb: Tackle steep stretches covered with snow and loose rocks, requiring careful footing and a steady pace.
- Kugti Pass: After a demanding ascent, reach Kugti Pass at 5,090 m, the highest point of the trek.
- Himalayan Panorama: Take in spectacular views of Manimahesh Kailash and the surrounding high-altitude landscapes, including the Alyas and Grechu Pass regions.
- Marali Devi Shrine: Visit the small shrine at the pass, decorated with traditional bells, iron offerings, and colourful pieces of cloth.
- Descent: After spending some time at the summit, begin the descent carefully along the narrow and steep trail towards the Lahaul side.
- Return to Camp: Reach the Alyas campsite, enjoy a well-earned meal, and rest after this challenging summit day.

The Ultimate High-Altitude Pass Crossing
- Morning: Start the day with breakfast at Alyas Base Camp and prepare for the final trekking section.
- Trek Distance: Approximately 8 km from Alyas to Jobrung.
- Ridge Crossing: Begin by crossing a mountain ridge before gradually descending towards the Rashil Stream.
- Descent to Jobrung: Follow the trail along the right bank of the stream through the scenic Lahaul landscape.
- Jobrung Village: Reach Jobrung, considered one of the first settlements on the Lahaul side, and enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the Chandra-Bhaga River.
- Towards Shamsha: Continue the trail and cross a stream via a bridge to reach Shamsha, located along the Kilad–Manali highway.
- Drive to Udaipur: Board the pre-arranged vehicle at Shamsha for a scenic 45 km drive to Udaipur.
- Arrival: Check into the hotel in Udaipur, freshen up, relax, and celebrate the successful completion of the Kugti Pass Trek.

- Morning: Begin the day with a visit to the Mirkula Mata Temple in Udaipur, an important spiritual and cultural landmark of the region.
- Journey Begins: After the temple visit, start the drive towards Keylong, the administrative centre of Lahaul, and take in the unique mountain culture and landscapes.
- Scenic Drive: Continue towards Manali through winding high-altitude roads, deep valleys, and spectacular Himalayan scenery.
- Rohtang Pass: Cross the famous Rohtang Pass, surrounded by dramatic mountain views and snow-covered landscapes, subject to weather and road conditions.
- Arrival in Manali: Reach Manali and check into the accommodation.

Terms And Conditions - Kugti Pass Trek 9D/8N
- To organize a trip we need at least 10/12 participants.
- If the minimum number of bookings is not met, we will offer an alternate trip or no refund.
- We have designated pick-up and drop points, make your own arrangements of transport to the desired pick-up point accordingly.
- Namma Trip is not responsible if any injuries or accidents occur during the event.
- Any client consuming alcohol, misbehaving, or causing delay during the event will be terminated from the event without any prior warning and no refund will be given. Such clients should arrange their own transport on the way back, Nammatrip does not hold the responsibility of terminated clients.
- Littering, smoking & consumption of alcohol are banned outdoors or anytime during the trek. We will provide you with a time and place to enjoy your drinks.
- In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and, in such cases, we will try to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
- If we cancel the event, we offer a full refund to all the participants.

- Tickets once booked cannot be exchanged or refunded.
- We recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the venue.
Cancellation Policy - Kugti Pass Trek 9D/8N
- 0–15 days prior: No refund; 100% of the cost will be charged.
- 15–30 days prior: 50% refund of the trek cost.
- Refunds will be processed within 5–7 working days.
- No refunds for cancellations due to unforeseen conditions or government restrictions
Important Notes - Kugti Pass Trek 9D/8N
- Please contact the tour operator or driver for queries related to boarding points or vehicles.
- Arrive at your designated pick-up point at least 20 minutes before departure time.
- Kindly cooperate with the tour operator in case of delays due to unforeseen circumstances like traffic.
- Once your booking is confirmed, we will add you to a WhatsApp group on the departure date around 6 PM, where we will share all necessary updates and information related to the trek.
- If any tourist spots are closed due to strikes, weather, or other unforeseen factors, those will not be covered in the sightseeing.
FAQ's
The best time is generally June to September, when the high-altitude trails are more accessible and weather conditions are relatively favourable. The trek is challenging and should be undertaken with proper preparation and an experienced trek team.
