Itinerary
Depart from Bangalore
- Meet the Namma Trip team at Kathgodam Railway Station and begin the journey towards the mountains.
- Set out on a scenic 300 km drive, taking approximately 8–9 hours, through the beautiful Kumaon hills.
- Pass through charming hill towns such as Almora, enjoying changing landscapes, winding mountain roads, and panoramic valley views.
- Continue towards Munsiyari, the gateway to the spectacular Johar Valley and the Milam Glacier region.
- Arrive in Munsiyari and check into the hotel, followed by a relaxing evening.
- Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel in Munsiyari and prepare for the trek ahead.
Kathgodam – Almora – Munsiyari
- After breakfast, drive from Munsiyari to Lilam/Rargadi, the starting point of today's trekking section.
- Begin the 12 km trek towards Bugdiar, following the trail through dense forests and beautiful Himalayan landscapes.
- Walk alongside the Gori Ganga River, enjoying the changing scenery as the trail gradually enters the remote Johar Valley.
- Cross the river and continue through open meadows, forested stretches, and rugged mountain terrain.
- Take in the peaceful surroundings and spectacular views of the valley as you make your way towards Bugdiar.
- Reach Bugdiar and settle into the campsite, surrounded by the quiet Himalayan wilderness.
- Enjoy a warm meal, relax after the day's trek, and spend the night camping at Bugdiar.
Drive to the Trailhead & Trek Through the Johar Valley
- Start the trek from Bugdiar at around 2,500 m, following the trail deeper into the remote Johar Valley.
- Trek approximately 14 km through narrow gorges, rugged paths, and spectacular Himalayan surroundings.
- Continue towards Railkot, located along the edge of the beautiful Lwan Gad Valley.
- Take a short break at Railkot and enjoy the peaceful mountain scenery before continuing towards Martoli.
- Follow the trail through changing landscapes, with dramatic cliffs, valleys, and snow-covered peaks appearing along the route.
- Reach the picturesque village of Martoli at around 3,430 m, known for its stunning views and traditional Himalayan setting.
- Settle into the campsite, enjoy a warm meal, and relax after the day's long trek.
- Overnight stay in camping at Martoli.
Bugdiar – Railkot – Martoli
- Begin the trek from Martoli at around 3,430 m, continuing deeper into the spectacular Johar Valley.
- Cover approximately 11 km, following scenic mountain trails surrounded by rugged cliffs and Himalayan landscapes.
- Cross bridges over the Lwan Gad and Gori Ganga Rivers, adding an adventurous element to the day's journey.
- Pass through Burphu Village, where traditional stone houses and the quiet mountain setting offer a glimpse into the region's heritage.
- Continue along the trail towards Milam Village, one of the historic settlements of the Johar Valley.
- Reach Milam Village at approximately 3,450 m, once an important Indo-Tibetan trade centre.
- Explore the surroundings and experience the unique atmosphere of this remote Himalayan village.
- Settle into the campsite, enjoy dinner, and spend the night camping in Milam Village.
Martoli – Burphu Village – Milam Village
- Start early from Milam Village and begin the trek towards the magnificent Milam Glacier.
- Follow the trail through the rugged high-altitude landscape, with dramatic valleys and snow-covered mountains surrounding you.
- As you approach the glacier, enjoy spectacular views of prominent Himalayan peaks including Rishi Parvat (6,692 m), Hardeol (7,151 m), and Tirsuli (7,074 m).
- Spend some time at Milam Glacier, taking in the vast glacial landscape and capturing unforgettable moments.
- After exploring the glacier, begin the return trek to Milam Village, following the same scenic route.

- After breakfast, begin the return trek from Milam Village towards Railkot, retracing the scenic trail through the Johar Valley.

- Enjoy the changing landscapes as you gradually descend towards lower altitudes.
- Take breaks along the way to appreciate the peaceful wilderness and dramatic mountain views.
- Reach Railkot and settle into the campsite after completing the long trekking day.

Retrace the Trail Through the Johar Valley
- Begin the day's trek from Railkot towards Bugdiar, following the trail deeper through the scenic Himalayan landscape.
- Cover approximately 12 km, gradually descending along rugged mountain paths.
- Trek through the dramatic Nahar Devi narrow gorge, surrounded by towering cliffs and beautiful valley scenery.
- Enjoy the peaceful surroundings as you make your way through the remote sections of the Johar Valley.
- Reach Bugdiar and settle into the campsite after completing the day's trek.
- Relax, enjoy a hot and wholesome dinner, and recharge for the final trekking section.

Descend Through the Nahar Devi Gorge
- After breakfast, begin the final trekking section from Bugdiar towards Lilam/Rargadi.
- Cover approximately 12 km downhill, passing through lush forests, open meadows, and beautiful Himalayan surroundings.
- Enjoy the peaceful trail as you gradually make your way back towards the trek's starting point.
- Reach Lilam/Rargadi and board the vehicle for a drive back to Munsiyari.
- Arrive in Munsiyari and check into the rest house, giving yourself time to relax after the trek.
- Refresh yourself with a well-deserved hot water bath and unwind after several days in the mountains.
- Enjoy a comfortable evening and overnight stay at the rest house in Munsiyari.
Final Trek & Return to Munsiyari
- After breakfast, check out from your accommodation in Munsiyari and begin the drive towards Kathgodam.
- Enjoy a scenic journey through the winding mountain roads and picturesque Kumaon landscapes as you gradually descend to the plains.
- Take in the final views of the Himalayan valleys and surrounding peaks along the way.

Terms And Conditions - Milam Glacier Trek 9D/8N
- To organize a trip we need at least 10/12 participants.
- If the minimum number of bookings is not met, we will offer an alternate trip or no refund.
- We have designated pick-up and drop points, make your own arrangements of transport to the desired pick-up point accordingly.
- Namma Trip is not responsible if any injuries or accidents occur during the event.
- Any client consuming alcohol, misbehaving, or causing delay during the event will be terminated from the event without any prior warning and no refund will be given. Such clients should arrange their own transport on the way back, Nammatrip does not hold the responsibility of terminated clients.
- Littering, smoking & consumption of alcohol are banned outdoors or anytime during the trek. We will provide you with a time and place to enjoy your drinks.
- In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and, in such cases, we will try to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
- If we cancel the event, we offer a full refund to all the participants.

- We recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the venue.

- 0–15 days prior: No refund; 100% of the cost will be charged.
- 15–30 days prior: 50% refund of the trek cost.
- Refunds will be processed within 5–7 working days.
- No refunds for cancellations due to unforeseen conditions or government restrictions

- Please contact the tour operator or driver for queries related to boarding points or vehicles.
- Arrive at your designated pick-up point at least 20 minutes before departure time.
- Kindly cooperate with the tour operator in case of delays due to unforeseen circumstances like traffic.
- Once your booking is confirmed, we will add you to a WhatsApp group on the departure date around 6 PM, where we will share all necessary updates and information related to the trek.
- If any tourist spots are closed due to strikes, weather, or other unforeseen factors, those will not be covered in the sightseeing.
