Saptarishi Kund Trek with Yamunotri Temple

The Saptarishi Kund Trek with Yamunotri Temple is a unique Himalayan journey that combines a sacred pilgrimage with an adventurous high-altitude trek in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. The journey takes you to Yamunotri, one of the revered Char Dham destinations, before continuing towards the remote and challenging terrain of Saptarishi Kund. Yamunotri Temple stands at approximately 3,235 metres, while Saptarishi Kund is a much more demanding high-altitude extension beyond the temple.

The adventure begins through the scenic valleys and mountain settlements leading towards Yamunotri. After reaching the temple, the route moves away from the regular pilgrimage trail and enters a more rugged Himalayan environment, with steep ascents, rocky sections, alpine landscapes and challenging terrain.

Saptarishi Kund is a high-altitude glacial lake associated with the source region of the Yamuna River. The approach is considerably more difficult than the standard Yamunotri trek, requiring good fitness, careful movement and suitable guidance.

The journey offers a striking combination of spirituality and wilderness. Trekkers can experience the sacred atmosphere of Yamunotri Temple along with remote Himalayan landscapes, mountain streams, alpine terrain and dramatic views surrounding the upper Yamunotri valley.

For adventure seekers looking for more than a conventional pilgrimage, the Saptarishi Kund Trek with Yamunotri Temple brings together religious significance, high-altitude trekking and the raw beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas.
