Sar Pass Trek

The Sar Pass Trek is a scenic high-altitude adventure through the beautiful Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Starting from the popular mountain village of Kasol, the trail gradually climbs through dense pine, deodar and rhododendron forests before opening into expansive Himalayan meadows and rugged high-altitude terrain.

The journey passes through beautiful locations such as Grahan Village, Min Thach and Nagaru, each offering a different side of the Parvati Valley. As the altitude increases, the landscape changes from thick forests and green meadows to rocky ridges and snow-covered slopes.

The highlight of the trek is the crossing of Sar Pass, situated at roughly 4,200–4,250 metres. From the pass, trekkers can enjoy expansive mountain views before descending towards Biskeri Thach, where alpine landscapes and open meadows create a striking contrast to the higher snow-covered sections.

The trek concludes with a descent through forests and mountain trails towards Barshaini, completing a route that combines Himalayan villages, forests, meadows, snow and high-altitude mountain scenery.

With its gradual progression in altitude and varied terrain, Sar Pass offers an opportunity to experience several different Himalayan landscapes within one trek. The route is commonly graded moderate, although snow conditions, weather and altitude can significantly affect the difficulty.
