From the confluence, the Kaveri continues through a dramatic narrow gorge surrounded by hard granite rock formations. The name Mekedatu, meaning “goat’s leap” in Kannada, comes from the narrow rocky passage associated with the local legend.
The journey also offers an opportunity to visit Chunchi Falls, a scenic waterfall formed by the Arkavathi River. With its peaceful surroundings, river landscapes, rocky formations, and waterfalls, Mekedatu makes an ideal weekend escape for nature lovers, families, friends, and groups.

Itinerary
11:30 PM – Begin pickup from Bangalore
- 01:00 PM: Guests who have opted for the transportation variant will be picked up from Bangalore.
- 03:00 PM: Arrive at the homestay, check in, and settle into your rooms.
- 03:30 PM: Set out on an exciting jungle safari and coracle ride, exploring the surrounding wilderness and enjoying a peaceful ride along the river.
- 06:00 PM: Return to the homestay and relax with evening hi-tea and light refreshments.
- 07:30 PM – 08:30 PM: Gather around the bonfire and enjoy a fun session of indoor and outdoor games.
- 08:30 PM – 09:30 PM: Savour a delicious buffet dinner and unwind for the evening.
- 10:30 PM: Retire to your rooms for a comfortable overnight stay.
- 06:30 AM: Wake up early and head out for a refreshing nature walk to Madivala Shivalankari Temple. Enjoy the cool morning air and peaceful surroundings while exploring the temple area.
- 08:30 AM: Return to the homestay and enjoy a hearty buffet breakfast. Pack your bags and get ready for the day’s exploration.
- 09:30 AM: Depart for Chunchi Falls, approximately 15 km away. Spend some time enjoying the scenic waterfall and capture memorable moments amidst nature.
- 11:30 AM: Continue towards Yadamaranahalli Lake, around 20 km away. Enjoy an exciting kayaking experience while taking in the tranquil surroundings of the lake.

Terms And Conditions - Mekedatu Room Stay with Adventure Activities
Minimum 10–12 participants required to organize the trek/trip
• If minimum bookings are not met or permits are unavailable, an alternative trek or reschedule will be offered; no refunds
• Rescheduling requests must be made at least 5 days prior and within 30 days of the original date
• Itinerary, activities, and pickup/drop timings are subject to change due to weather, traffic, permits, or government restrictions
• Facilities and accommodation are basic (tents, sleeping bags, dorms, or open sky)
• Average fitness level required; organizers are not responsible if participants cannot complete the trek
• Namma Trip is not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings, valuables, cash, jewellery, or gadgets
• Vegetarian food only, basic and hygienic
• Alcohol, smoking, misbehavior, or delays will lead to immediate termination without refund
• Participants must maintain cleanliness; littering is strictly prohibited
• In case of organizer cancellation, refunds (if applicable) will be processed in 5–7 working days
• Tickets once booked are non-refundable and non-transferable (third-party policies apply)
• Arrive at pickup point at least 20 minutes early; transport to pickup point is the participant’s responsibility
• Bookings may be shifted to a verified partner if required
• Management’s decision is final; rights of admission reserved
• Booking without reading the itinerary and T&C is solely the customer’s responsibility
Cancellation Policy - Mekedatu Room Stay with Adventure Activities
Refund Policy
• Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days; in case of organiser cancellation, refunds are initiated after the trip date.
• Once initiated, refunds may take 10–12 business days to reflect in the original account.
• Refunds via the website will have a 3% payment gateway fee deducted.
• Rescheduled trips are valid for up to 2 months; beyond that, the booking is not eligible for rescheduling or refund.
Cancellation Policy
• 0–15 days before the trip: No refund, 100% of the tour cost charged.
• 15–30 days before the trip: 50% of the tour cost charged.
• Rescheduling requests must be made at least 5 days prior and within 30 days of the original date. No requests will be accepted beyond this.
• If permits are unavailable for a trek, an alternate trek will be offered; no refund will be provided.

- Rooms will be on a sharing basis, separate for men and women. Private rooms can be arranged at an additional cost, subject to availability.
