The Panch Kedar Yatra is a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage that connects five ancient temples dedicated to Lord Shiva in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand: Kedarnath, Tungnath, Rudranath, Madhyamaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar.

The journey combines spiritual significance with challenging mountain trails, remote villages, dense forests, alpine meadows, and spectacular Himalayan views. Each Kedar temple has its own unique setting and legend, making the Panch Kedar circuit a deeply rewarding experience for pilgrims and trekkers alike.

The route involves long walking sections and significant elevation changes, so good fitness, preparation, and acclimatization are important. Depending on the itinerary, the complete circuit can take several days to multiple weeks.

Itinerary

    Depart from Bangalore

     

    Scenic Drive Through the Garhwal Himalayas

    • Begin the journey early in the morning from Haridwar or Rishikesh and head towards the Himalayan region.
    • Drive through the scenic mountain roads, passing beautiful valleys, rivers, and traditional hill settlements.
    • Cover approximately 220–240 km during the day's journey, depending on the final destination.
    • Reach Guptkashi or Gaurikund, the gateway to the Kedarnath section of the Panch Kedar Yatra.
    • Check in to a guesthouse or hotel and settle into your accommodation.
    • Use the evening to rest and prepare for the upcoming high-altitude trek.
    • Overnight stay at Guptkashi/Gaurikund.

    Trek to the Sacred Kedarnath Dham

    • Begin the trek early from Gaurikund and follow the well-established mountain trail towards Kedarnath.
    • Cover approximately 16 km on foot, passing through scenic Himalayan landscapes and mountain valleys.
    • Take steady breaks along the route and enjoy the changing views as you gradually gain altitude.
    • Reach Kedarnath, one of the most revered Shiva temples and an important pilgrimage destination in the Himalayas.
    • Visit Kedarnath Temple and offer prayers, soaking in the spiritual atmosphere surrounded by majestic mountains.
    • Check in to your accommodation near Kedarnath and rest after the day's trek.

    Descend to Gaurikund and Drive to Guptkashi

    • Begin the descent from Kedarnath after breakfast and retrace the mountain trail towards Gaurikund.
    • Cover approximately 16 km on foot, enjoying the changing Himalayan scenery along the way.
    • Reach Gaurikund after the trek, marking the completion of the Kedarnath section of the Panch Kedar Yatra.
    • Board the vehicle at Gaurikund and continue the journey towards Guptkashi.

    • Arrive in Guptkashi and check in to your hotel, followed by a well-deserved rest.

    Drive to Ransi | Trek Through Himalayan Forests to Gaundhar

    • Start the day with a drive from Guptkashi to Ransi, covering approximately 20–25 km through scenic mountain roads.
    • Reach Ransi and begin the trek towards Gaundhar, following the trail through the beautiful Himalayan landscape.
    • Trek for around 9–10 km, passing through lush forests, green meadows, and peaceful mountain surroundings.
    • Enjoy the changing scenery along the trail as the route gradually leads deeper into the remote Garhwal region.
    • Reach Gaundhar after approximately 4–6 hours of trekking and settle into your stay.
    • Relax and recover after the day's journey, surrounded by the peaceful mountain environment.
    • Overnight stay at Gaundhar.

    Trek to the Sacred Madhyamaheshwar Temple

    • Start the day's trek from Gaundhar and follow the mountain trail towards the revered Madhyamaheshwar Temple.
    • Cover approximately 10 km on foot, gradually gaining altitude through the scenic Garhwal Himalayas.
    • Trek through dense forests, green meadows, and peaceful mountain landscapes, enjoying the natural beauty along the route.
    • Continue the steady ascent towards Madhyamaheshwar, reaching an altitude of approximately 3,497 metres.
    • Arrive at Madhyamaheshwar Temple, surrounded by magnificent Himalayan peaks and tranquil landscapes.
    • Offer prayers and spend time exploring the sacred temple surroundings before settling in for the evening.
    • Overnight stay at Madhyamaheshwar.

    Descend to Ransi | Scenic Drive to Chopta

    • Begin the day with an early descent from Madhyamaheshwar towards Ransi, retracing the scenic mountain trail.
    • Cover approximately 10 km on foot, with the descent taking around 4–6 hours depending on the pace and trail conditions.
    • Pass through the forests and mountain landscapes as you make your way back to Ransi.
    • Reach Ransi and board the vehicle for the onward journey to Chopta.
    • Drive approximately 30–35 km to Chopta, enjoying the beautiful Garhwal mountain scenery along the way.
    • Arrive at Chopta, the starting point for the trek to the sacred Tungnath Temple.
    • Check in to your accommodation and relax, preparing for the next day's trek.
    • Overnight stay at Chopta.

    Trek to Tungnath Temple and Summit Chandrashila

    • Begin the trek from Chopta towards Tungnath Temple, following the scenic uphill trail through the beautiful Himalayan landscape.
    • Cover approximately 3.5 km to reach Tungnath, one of the highest Shiva temples in the world.
    • Spend some time at the temple and offer prayers before continuing towards Chandrashila.
    • Continue the ascent for another 1.5 km from Tungnath to reach the summit of Chandrashila Peak.

    • Reach Sagar Village and begin the trek towards Pannar Bugyal, entering a quieter and more remote section of the Himalayas.
    • Follow the trail through dense forests and gradually rising mountain terrain, enjoying the peaceful surroundings along the way.
    • Continue towards Pannar Bugyal, a beautiful high-altitude meadow surrounded by expansive Himalayan landscapes.
    • Reach the meadow and explore its scenic surroundings, taking in the panoramic views of the mountains and valleys.
    • Settle into the campsite at Pannar Bugyal and relax after the day's journey.
    • Overnight camping at Pannar Bugyal.

    Trek to the Sacred Rudranath Temple

    • Start the trek early from Pannar Bugyal and set out towards the remote and revered Rudranath Temple.
    • Cover approximately 18–20 km during the day's trek, with around 7–9 hours of walking depending on trail and weather conditions.
    • Follow the scenic Himalayan trail through alpine meadows, forests, and rugged mountain terrain.
    • Reach Rudranath Temple, one of the sacred Panch Kedar shrines, and spend time exploring the peaceful surroundings and offering prayers.
    • Take in the tranquil mountain setting before beginning the return journey.
    • Retrace the trail back towards Pannar Bugyal, completing a long and rewarding day in the Himalayas.

    Descend to Sagar Village | Drive to Urgam Valley

    • Begin the morning descent from Pannar Bugyal and follow the trail back towards Sagar Village.
    • Cover approximately 5–6 km on foot, passing through scenic forest trails and mountain landscapes.
    • Reach Sagar Village after around 2–3 hours of trekking and take some time to refresh.
    • Board the vehicle at Sagar Village and begin the drive towards the peaceful Urgam Valley.
    • Travel approximately 10–12 km to Urgam Village, enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery along the route.
    • Arrive in Urgam and check in to your accommodation, settling into the village surroundings.
    • Relax and unwind after the day's trek and drive, preparing for the next stage of the Panch Kedar Yatra.
    • Overnight stay at Urgam Village.

    Drive to Kalpeshwar | Visit the Sacred Temple | Return to Garudganga

Terms And Conditions - Panch Kedar Yatra 12D/11N

  • To organize a trip we need at least 10/12 participants.
  • If the minimum number of bookings is not met, we will offer an alternate trip or no refund.
  • We have designated pick-up and drop points, make your own arrangements of transport to the desired pick-up point accordingly.
  • Namma Trip is not responsible if any injuries or accidents occur during the event.
  • Any client consuming alcohol, misbehaving, or causing delay during the event will be terminated from the event without any prior warning and no refund will be given. Such clients should arrange their own transport on the way back, Nammatrip does not hold the responsibility of terminated clients.
  • Littering, smoking & consumption of alcohol are banned outdoors or anytime during the trek. We will provide you with a time and place to enjoy your drinks.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and, in such cases, we will try to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
  • If we cancel the event, we offer a full refund to all the participants.
  • Our facilities are neat and basic, not luxurious
  • Tickets once booked cannot be exchanged or refunded.

  • 0–15 days prior: No refund; 100% of the cost will be charged.
  • 15–30 days prior: 50% refund of the trek cost.
  • Refunds will be processed within 5–7 working days.
  • No refunds for cancellations due to unforeseen conditions or government restrictions

 

Important Notes - Panch Kedar Yatra 12D/11N

  • Please contact the tour operator or driver for queries related to boarding points or vehicles.
  • Arrive at your designated pick-up point at least 20 minutes before departure time.
  • Kindly cooperate with the tour operator in case of delays due to unforeseen circumstances like traffic.
  • Once your booking is confirmed, we will add you to a WhatsApp group on the departure date around 6 PM, where we will share all necessary updates and information related to the trek.
  • If any tourist spots are closed due to strikes, weather, or other unforeseen factors, those will not be covered in the sightseeing.
