Yunam Peak Expedition 

The Yunam Peak Expedition is a challenging high-altitude mountaineering adventure in the Lahaul region of Himachal Pradesh. Standing at approximately 6,111 metres (20,049 ft), Yunam Peak offers experienced trekkers and aspiring mountaineers the opportunity to attempt a 6,000-metre Himalayan summit.

The expedition takes you through the scenic landscapes of the Manali–Leh Highway, Jispa and Bharatpur, followed by acclimatization and a demanding summit push. The route features rocky trails, scree sections, snow-covered terrain and breathtaking Trans-Himalayan mountain views.

Itinerary

    Depart from Bangalore

    • Meet the expedition team at Manali Bus Stand and begin your journey towards Jispa between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
    • Enjoy a scenic mountain drive as the landscape gradually transforms from green valleys into the rugged and barren terrain of the Trans-Himalayan region.
    • Witness breathtaking mountain views, winding roads and changing landscapes along the route to Lahaul.
    • Arrive at Jispa, a picturesque Himalayan village surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.
    • Settle into the campsite and relax in the peaceful surroundings of Jispa.
    • Spend the evening enjoying the serene mountain atmosphere and preparing for the upcoming expedition days.

    • Spend the day at Bharatpur to help your body adjust to the increasing altitude and prepare for the upcoming Yunam Peak Expedition.
    • Begin with a short acclimatization hike around the nearby terrain, allowing you to become familiar with the rugged mountain landscape.
    • Explore the surrounding areas and, if conditions permit, walk towards nearby viewpoints for scenic Himalayan views.
    • Keep the activity moderate and avoid unnecessary exertion while your body adapts to the high-altitude environment.
    • Stay hydrated, take sufficient rest and follow the instructions provided by the expedition team.
    • Use the day to check your trekking equipment, organize your backpack and prepare for the upcoming summit-related activities.

    • Attend the final expedition briefing to understand the summit route, expected terrain, safety guidelines and climbing strategy.
    • Check your essential mountaineering equipment and ensure everything is properly arranged for summit day.

    • Begin the summit day with an early morning departure from Yunam Base Camp, starting the challenging ascent towards Yunam Peak.
    • Follow the designated route through rugged high-altitude terrain, navigating steep sections and changing mountain conditions under the guidance of the expedition team.
    • Continue the summit push at a controlled pace, allowing sufficient time for rest breaks and careful movement.
    • Reach the summit of Yunam Peak, subject to weather, route conditions, acclimatization and the expedition leader's safety assessment.
    • Spend some time at the summit, appreciating the panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges and capturing memorable photographs when conditions permit.
    • Begin the descent after the summit attempt and retrace the route towards Yunam Base Camp.
    • Continue the return journey from the base camp towards Bharatpur, taking necessary breaks to recover after the demanding climb.
    • Arrive at Bharatpur and settle into the campsite for a well-deserved rest.

    Important Note: Summit success depends on weather conditions, route safety, participant health and the expedition leader's decision. A safe turnaround is always prioritised.

    • Depart from Yunam Base Camp and travel towards Bharatpur, taking time to reflect on the experiences of the expedition.
    • Continue the scenic drive through the rugged landscapes of Lahaul, enjoying breathtaking mountain views along the route.
    • Proceed towards Jispa, passing through high-altitude valleys and picturesque Himalayan surroundings.
    • Continue the journey towards Manali, following the mountain roads through the beautiful landscapes of Himachal Pradesh.
    • Arrive in Manali and check in to your accommodation, allowing yourself time to relax and recover after the expedition.
    • Spend the remaining time unwinding, exploring Manali independently or preparing for your onward journey.

Terms And Conditions - Yunam Peak Expedition 7D/6N

  • To organize a trip we need at least 10/12 participants.
  • If the minimum number of bookings is not met, we will offer an alternate trip or no refund.
  • We have designated pick-up and drop points, make your own arrangements of transport to the desired pick-up point accordingly.
  • Namma Trip is not responsible if any injuries or accidents occur during the event.
  • Any client consuming alcohol, misbehaving, or causing delay during the event will be terminated from the event without any prior warning and no refund will be given. Such clients should arrange their own transport on the way back, Nammatrip does not hold the responsibility of terminated clients.
  • Littering, smoking & consumption of alcohol are banned outdoors or anytime during the trek. We will provide you with a time and place to enjoy your drinks.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and, in such cases, we will try to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
  • If we cancel the event, we offer a full refund to all the participants.
  • Our facilities are neat and basic, not luxurious
  • Tickets once booked cannot be exchanged or refunded.
  • We recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the venue.

Cancellation Policy - Yunam Peak Expedition 7D/6N

  • 0–15 days prior: No refund; 100% of the cost will be charged.
  • 15–30 days prior: 50% refund of the trek cost.
  • Refunds will be processed within 5–7 working days.
  • No refunds for cancellations due to unforeseen conditions or government restrictions

Important Notes - Yunam Peak Expedition 7D/6N

Once your booking is confirmed and the minimum number of slots has filled [i.e, 10-12 people] for the trek, we will add you to a WhatsApp group on the departure date around 6-8 PM, where we will share all necessary updates and information related to the trek.
